ELCA World Hunger
Dec 15, 2026
Inspired by Mary’s Magnificat, ELCA World Hunger’s Advent theme is “Filled With Good Things,” an invitation for all of us to strengthen our relationships with our neighbors by sharing our abundance.
New resources are now available from ELCA World Hunger to enrich the life of your congregation in Advent 2026 and Lent 2027.
This year’s Advent resources provide tools for your community to celebrate those you are connected to, near and far, and to strengthen your bonds.
We’re counting on your support, courage and creativity as you engage your congregation in the work of ELCA World Hunger. You will be getting a sample package of resources in the mail soon, and you can order or download free versions at ELCA.org/WHAdvent.
There you will find:
“Action Guide for Congregations,” full of ideas for how to engage your members in the shared work of our church, including ELCA World Hunger, Lutheran Disaster Response, AMMPARO and more!
A four-session Advent devotional that provides reflections on neighborliness. Each entry guides you through ways to strengthen your community.

A new Advent calendar and interactive winter village scene that members can enjoy with their families at home or at church.
An ELCA World Hunger Advent bulletin insert to share in worship with your congregation, inviting them to engage with the new ELCA World Hunger Advent resources and the “Stocking the Streets” activity.

A daily, devotional Lent calendar that members can use at home or with small groups to inspire reflection and support the work of ELCA World Hunger
An ELCA Good Gifts card sample, showing one of the many cards you can order to share with loved ones on a variety of holidays and other occasions.
An ELCA Good Gifts catalog with a sneak peek of new gifts coming this year, to inspire unique seasonal-giving ideas that fight hunger and poverty around the world. Check out our online catalog and find more resources and gift options by visiting ELCA.org/GoodGifts.
We encourage you to welcome your household, your congregation and your neighbors to join our church’s work, building stronger communities around the world. If our team can support you in any way, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hunger@elca.org.
