Developing Dynamic, Authentic Worship

February 9, 2019

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Worship is at the core of what it means to be the church.  In the Lutherans Confessions, the church is defined as the gathering of believers where the gospel is proclaimed and the sacraments are administered.  That happens in worship!  In the ELCA resource, Worship Care: A Guide for Reflection and Connection, the statement is made . . . our promised land is worship.  As Lutheran Christians, we are born in the holy waters of baptism, formed for faithful living, fed by the Word and the Meal, and at last, forgiven and freed, we go in peace to serve Christ’s name.  Worship is both where we begin and where we end up.

During this workshop participants will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the why, what and “hows” of worship

  • Receive resources and tools for worship planning

  • Develop a plan to help enhance worship in their own congregations

This workshop will be hosted in three locations throughout the synod:

The only cost is $15 to pay for lunch.  You can register on the synod website at www.css-elca.org/congregational-vitalilty.  If you have any questions, please contact Susan Candea at scandea@css-elca.org
