Ministry Campaign Expands Trinity Lutheran Church’s (Kirkwood,
Mo.) Efforts to Support Missional Projects. Congregations are invited to share their own stories about how God is working through them to participate in Christ's mission in the world today. If you have a mission story to share, please contact Susan Morrell, Mission Interpreter Coordinator for the Central States Synod at missioninterpreter@css-elca.org. An Invitation
to Connect with the Mission Interpreter Ministry One of the most engaging ways we Make Christ Known is by telling stories of how people’s lives are changed through the missions and ministries of the ELCA. But, we don’t do this as often as we should. Quite simply, we don’t talk very much about the mission and ministry of the Lutheran Church that takes place beyond the walls of each congregation. Nor do we thank members as much as we should for their ongoing contributions to these ministries. The Synod’s new Mission Interpreter Project attempts to address these needs. It brings together lay leaders from throughout the Synod and equips them with the training and information they need go forth with temple talks, newsletter articles and other means to remind all of our congregations of how we are making a difference in the world through the work of the church. Mission Interpreters thank, inform, teach, inspire, tie together and invite through stories which illustrate how you make a difference in the lives of others through your giving. All congregations are invited to register to receive monthly Mission Interpreter news articles to share with their congregations via their bulletins or newsletters. Many individuals have already taken the training to be Mission Interpreters, but we are always looking for more. In addition, all congregations are invited to share their own stories about how God is working through them to participate in Christ’s mission in the world today. If you have a story to tell, we would love hear from you in order that we may share it with others in the Central States Synod of the ELCA as well as with the wider ELCA community. If you would like to receive these important and timely newsletters, if you would like for a Mission Interpreter to visit your congregation, or if you would like more information about becoming a Mission Interpreter, please contact Susan Morrell, Mission Interpreter Coordinator, Central States Synod, at 816-861-6584 or toll-free 866-915-3548, ext. 301; or missioninterpreter@css-elca.org. If you have a story to tell, please forward them to Susan as well as share them with the wider Lutheran community by posting it on the ELCA web-site’s stewardship page in an area called “Tell Us your Story” located at: www.elca.org/stewardship/story.html Susan Morrell,
