Fourteen lay and clergy members of our synod, along with Bishop
Mansholt and Pr. Janice Kibler, have been trained as Bridgebuilders
by Dr. Pete Steinke. This link includes a brochure and photos from the

FRESH START
A process to help congregations discern their future. A team of seven
members of the Central States Synod were trained through a grant from
the Outreach Team by Bob Humphrey of Churchsmart Resources. His Fresh
Start training was contextualized for this synod and is ready to be
used by congregations. Congregations can use this process after they
have been referred by one of the Central States Synod staff. PMA Alan

NATURAL
CHURCH DEVELOPMENT (NCD)
The Central
States Synod is committed to helping congregations who want to use NCD.
Coaches have been trained and we know of at least six congregations
who have used this process. However, as of right now, we do not have
enough coaches to keep up with the demand. If you are interested in
doing the NCD process contact Len Dale at ldale@css-elca.org.

INDIAN MISSION
Oaks Indian Mission is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America, witnessing to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the heart of
the Cherokee Nation. Our mission is to enable people to achieve wholeness
of body, mind and spirit while sustaining dignity and harmony with others
and to nurture cultural and personal identity in relationship with God,
family and community.

MINISTRY ASSOCIATE PROGRAM
The Parish Ministry Associate Program (PMA) will identify and
equip people for service in congregations without full-time pastoral
services and in congregations, institutions, or agencies as additional
