WORSHIP COURSE


Dates and Times: Saturdays, March 8, 15, 29, and April 5, 12, from 1 - 6 p.m.

Description: This course provides the student with a background for planning and conducting worship. The content covers the parts of worship--both essential and optional--worship planning, and resources available for those planning and conducting worship.

Leader: The Reverend Doctor Peter Rehwaldt. Dr. Rehwaldt received the MDiv from LSTC in 1989 and earned the Ph.D from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. His dissertation title is, 'Let All the People Say 'Amen!': A Multigenerational Understanding of Rite, Hymnody and Preaching." He served at Zion, Ferguson MO, Ruskin Heights, Kansas City, MO and also as interim pastor of Lutheran Campus Ministry at KU. He served on the Hymn Editorial Panel for the Renewing Worship project, helping to select the hymns for inclusion in ELW. He is currently the Director of Research for the Hymn Society in the US and Canada.

Location: Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 New Hampshire, Lawrence, Kan. (one block East of Massachusetts Street, South of downtown Lawrence)
