A mission field Today’s university students are part of the most unchurched generation in history, and young adults are visibly absent from our congregations. While the average American is 36 years old, the average Lutheran is 52. The Lutheran church is also experiencing a significant shortage of trained leaders. Roughly a quarter of our congregations are without a pastor. Lutheran Campus Ministry is a mission outpost of your church. Lutheran Campus Ministry invites young adults into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Through worship, Bible studies, discussion, and service, we explore together what it means to be a Christian community.
Lutheran Campus Ministry has a long tradition of preparing leaders for the church. Through their experiences in campus communities, students learn about their gifts and gain valuable leadership skills.
The Central States Synod is a strong supporter of Lutheran Campus Ministry, and a valuable partner for students on campus. The church around the world benefits from our Synod’s Lutheran Campus Ministry. You can make an investment in the future of the church. Your contribution to Lutheran Campus Ministry ensures continued outreach to unchurched students. Please help us to continue to provide for a new generation of leaders for the church. Your partnership in the Gospel with Lutheran Campus Ministry gives lonely students a home away from home, seeking students an opportunity to explore their faith, and gifted leaders the opportunity to use their gifts in service to God and to one another.
