The following Compensation Guidelines are to be used in the congregation process for determining fair compensation for the Pastor and Rostered Lay Professionals. The Guidelines are prepared by a Committee of the Synod after studying the Guidelines from other Synods of the ELCA, especially those of the Synods adjacent to ours, and after taking into consideration the cost of living increases as predicted by economic analysts.
The Guidelines were presented to and approved by the Synod Council Executive Committee on May 10, 2013. They were then presented to and accepted by the Central States Synod Assembly in Overland Park, Kan. on June 8, 2013.
